Effect of Anthocyanin on Oxidative Stress and Testis Structure in Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Rats

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of anthocyanin on oxidative stress, sperm, and testis structure in diabetic rats induced by streptozotocin (STZ). Materials Methods: In this experimental research, diabetes was a single intraperitoneal injection STZ (50 mg/ kg). A total 64 were assigned into four groups as follows: control group, group daily administrated with at dose 100 mg/kg, healthy for 56 days. After intervention, all anesthetized, their blood samples taken, serum levels insulin, glucose, stress markers measured. Finally, testicles removed histological parameters assessed. Results: Treating significantly improved tissue damage, insulin plasma (P=0.001). Furthermore, level malondialdehyde (MDA) up-surged superoxide dismutase (SOD) catalase (CAT) reduced Also, administration (100 mg/kg BW) rectified these (P<0.05). Conclusions: Our results confirmed antioxidant role improving sperm testicular damage caused diabetes.
